The highly anticipated second running of the Super High Roller Bowl at the ARIA Resort & Casino gets underway this Sunday. The $300,000 buy-in event will feature 49 players, including many of poker’s most successful tournament stars, with all vying for a piece of the $15 million prize pool including the $5 million prize awaiting the winner.
The event will last four days, starting Sunday, May 29 and continuing through Wednesday, June 1. It will be played seven-handed, with the top seven finishers making the money. In last year’s inaugural Super High Roller Bowl (featuring a $500K buy-in and $21.5 million prize pool), Brian Rast beat out Scott Seiver heads-up to win a $7.525 million first prize.
Both Rast and Seiver will be back again this year, as will the other five players who made the money a year ago — Connor Drinan, Timofey Kuznetsov, David Peters, Tom Marchese, and Erik Seidel.
Many of the other high-rolling usual suspects will be part of this year’s Super High Roller Bowl field, including Daniel Negreanu, Igor Kurganov, Jason Mercier, Dan Colman, Fedor Holz, Antonio Esfandiari, Andrew Robl, and Phil Hellmuth, just to name a few.
As was the case last year, PokerNews will be on hand as well with start-to-finish coverage of the event, with the live reporting team providing the usual hand reports, chip counts, photos, and more throughout.
The event will additionally be televised from the first hands through the final table, with coverage on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports Network each of the four days and nights. The coverage can be additionally followed on PokerCentral’s Twitch channel or its Facebook page. Click here for full rundown of when and where you can watch the action.
Providing still more incentive to watch this year’s Super High Roller Bowl is a special contest for viewers — the 'MVMT Million Dollar Final Table Challenge.' PokerCentral has partnered with MVMT Watches to sponsor the contest, which invites contestants to try to pick in order who will be the top seven finishers in the event from the 49 players scheduled to play.
Submit a perfect entry, and you win $1 million — simple as that. If no one submits a perfect card, the one coming the closest will win $10,000, and the top 25 finishers will all get MVMT watches. Click here to submit your entry, but get moving as the contest closes on Sunday.
