Gambling, especially online gambling, is one of the fastest growing behavioural addictions. A recent report by the Gambling Commission estimated that around 430,000 people in Britain suffer from a serious gambling habit, affecting thousands more close family members.

Gambling addiction is often referred to as the ‘secret behavioural addiction’ because it is often unacknowledged and it can easily be kept hidden from family and friends, whether gambling in a large Manchester casino, a betting shop on the high street or online with an app downloaded onto a smart phone.

COVID Recovery Iowa, which is a relatively new project that offers fee and anonymous counseling and support to all Iowans. The state of Iowa has received federal funding from FEMA to offer free virtual counseling and assistance to those affected in any way, by COVID-19.
